Ella comes up with so many of her own sayings that we now call them Ellaquisms. She has a new one almost daily. I think I should start following her around with a notebook, so I can write them all down. I don't know how many times we have said if she wasn't so funny and cute, she would totally be strung up by now! So here is her latest:
This morning I was standing in the kitchen and heard the electric pencil sharpener on the other side of the house running. and running. and running. Like five minutes later it was still running, so I called back and said, "It doesn't take that long to sharpen a pencil." To which Ella replied, "Yes it does," because she would argue with anyone about ANYTHING. I said something like you must not be holding it in there the right way, because it does not take that long. She yelled back, "IT'S NOT PENCIL ENOUGH YET!"
The defense rests. If she doesn't become a lawyer, she will have missed a perfect opportunity.
The Lord is my strength and my song: He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him, my father's God, and I will exalt Him - Exodus 15:2 I just love this verse!

Valentine's Banquet 2009

As you can see, I downloaded a ton of pictures the other day, hence the 2 posts in 2 days. Last weekend was our 2nd annual Valentine's Banquet at church. I absolutely love seeing how everyone decorates their table. They are all so different, yet all so beautiful. I went with a beach theme this year...I think it was a little wishful thinking. I'm over the cold weather and ready for some sunshine! Anyway, Maddie and Ella got a new pet out of the deal, so they were thrilled. Introducing...Mr. Beta.

Open for Business
Salon M.E. (Maddie & Ella) is open for business...well it has been for awhile now, but I'm just getting around to downloading the pictures. Nothing like procrastination. Maddie and Ella have spent hours creating new styles for themselves, their dolls, stuffed animals and who knows what else. If you are needing a new do, I know two little red heads that can help you out!

Quote for the Day
So...the girls are cleaning today. We were late to ballet yesterday because Ella couldn't find her ballet shoes...AND her tights were not in her drawer, so she had to wear some old ones with holes in the toes. Did I mention that we never could find the shoes so she had to go with no shoes, toes sticking out and all. If I sound a little bitter, there is good reason. I have spent lots of time organizing their room and play room. Everything. has. a. place! BUT, nothing seems to make it to it's place.
All that ranting to say, today they are cleaning. Cleaning out, cleaning off, cleaning out from under, JUST CLEANING.
So, I was in my bedroom and Ella came in with the broom and dustpan and said, "Mommy, I'm going to broom your room."
At least we can laugh!

Christmas Morning
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! We certainly did!! The girls' gold gift this year was a real "hair fixer" chair. Ella says that she is going to be a hair fixer when she grows up, and they absolutely love doing each other's hair. So, this gift couldn't have been more perfect for them...what a blessing! They have already had a ton of fun in their new salon. And have had us ALL in the chair. :) Here are a few pics from Christmas morning. Look for a sequel soon of their new set up.

Notice the mp3 player in her ears, and her tongue sticking out...now that's concentration!

We Wish You a Merry Christmas!
I absolutely love the Christmas season! I have to have my decorations up right after Thanksgiving, as to maximize the amount of time we can enjoy them. And every year, I spend lots of time on Christmas cards. I have taken thousands of pictures, just so I can have the "perfect" one. This year we're changing things up. We've decided not to send cards out. Along with most people, we are looking for ways to trim our budget. We are asking God to help us be creative with that. So, here is your "Christmas card" from the Hildebrands. Just imagine you've walked to your mailbox to recieve it. :)

We pray that you catch many glimpses of Christ's love for you during this Christmas season!

Merry Christmas!
