So, yesterday we spent the day in Chattanooga for Mother's day. It really was the best Mother's day ever. I enjoyed being with my family so much! We decided that we would go ahead and get Ella's ears pierced since we were in there and her birthday is next weekend anyway. Just like always, miss independent jumped up in that chair, ready to go, with not a worry in the world.

Have I ever mentioned how completely opposite Maddie and Ella are?? Ella, the one who was actually having her ears pierced, wasn't the least bit concerned. Maddie was worried enough for the both of them. She couldn't stand the thought of her little sister being in any pain. Eric and I had to keep reassuring her that everything would be fine.

Ella sat very patiently while they got everything ready. Thankfully they can do both ears at the same time, otherwise there might be a lot of girls walking around with just one ear pierced. :)
Ella cried for just a minute and then she was "good to go"

Ella loves her new look, but I'm not sure Eric does. He says it makes his baby look too old. And, Maddie has now decided that she is never having her ears pierced! :)

I love it! Ella your new look is FABULOUS! What a brave, independent little girl. Malley is going to be thrilled, I can't wait to tell her.
Can't wait to see them this afternoon! That was Abs present when she turned 4 too! It's scary how much these two are alike...LOL

Ella, you look adorable and you are so brave. Katie would not get hers done until she was in 2nd grade. I hope my Ella is as strong and brave as you. I hope you have a happy birthday.
Awwww! So sweet! I love how sisters can be so completely different! How creative of God!!
None of my girls have made it to pierced ears yet - though secretly I was wishing for them! Callie made it to the marker dots on the ears when she was about 6 ~ but, that's as far as it went!
I love Ella's new look!
Oh Ella - what a big step you took! Kailey just had hers done a couple months ago - she was like Maddie - "It will hurt and I'm not going to do it!" Then she just changed her mind and 'voila' now hers are pierced too! I'm so proud of how brave you were and your new earrings look beautiful in the picture - I can't wait to see them on Wednesday!
I love it! She's too cute! This is why I wish I'd been blogging since my girls' birth. I don't have a single picture of that fun experience. It just never crossed my mind.
I can't get over how grown up she looks. Time has flown!!! I am with ya...Maddie is her own person and there is no swaying that, thank the Lord!
Ella, you look beautiful. I saw them up close and personal last night and I must say you do look very, very grown-up!!!
Terri
Ella looks BEAUTIFUL!! I am SO VERY PROUD of you sweet girl!! I can't wait to see them on you in person!!
Happy Birthday sweet Ella!! Your mommy and daddy love you so very much!!
Love you,
Cyndi
P.S. Anna Grace was standing here as I read the post (I was hoping this would encourage her to go ahead and take the plunge). BUT, it went the other way entirely, she agrees with Maddie!! Maybe they can both go get their ears pierced together on their 21st birthdays! :)
Oh my gosh....I just about fell out in the floor. You go Ella-girl. They look GGGGGRRRRRREEAAATTT!. Although, I must say, I would have been with Maddie, maybe I'll let you take Sara Kate.
I'm impressed all the way around!
Love y'all and can't wait to see you. I have surprises!!!

Congrats on your new look, Ella! How exciting. Go Maddie for being your own person and how sweet you are for looking out for your sister!
Tammy-I actually thought about taking Ada to get her ears pierced at 4 months old. I would go to the dermatologist to get it done just due to her age. Any words of wisdom on that one?
Tammy,
You guys are so sweet, I, on the other hand...had Mary Kahlen's pierced at 3 months old. You know, had to wait until she had her shots before I could do it!
Anyway, I went ahead because I remember never having a problem with mine because my mom pierced mine as a baby, and my second hole, which I did as a teenage, was disasterous! I cried more than Mary Kahlen on that dreadful day...but she's got little diamonds shining bright.
I'm proud of Ella! I'm also proud of Maddie, that's right girl, don't give in to ANY peer pressure!
Just catching up on your blog---what a great story about Ella's earrings! You told it very well, too. :) How fun! Also--loved reading about your neck/back healing. Praise God.
I pray for you often.
Love,
DeLynn
